The 80's pop singer gives impromptu performance of her smash hit single on the tube
Kim Wilde gave passengers on the London Underground this week an impromptu performance of her smash hit single ‘Kids In America’ – watch it above.
The merry moment was caught on camera by passenger Katherine Eames and uploaded to YouTube today (December 19). The footage was shot as revellers, including Wilde and her brother who had a guitar to hand, made their way home from Magic FM’s Christmas bash.
“After a truly rubbish day, I got on the train home and couldn’t get a seat, a man pulled out his guitar, ‘Oh here we go!’ I thought,” wrote Eames. “Then a drunken woman starts singing. Hang on a minute, I know that voice?! It really was KIM WILDE! This totally made my day.”
In the past hour, Wilde, who also performed ‘Rockin Around The Christmas Tree’, has taken to Twitter to express her surprise at the overwhelming reaction the video, which has now gone viral.
On discovering that she was now trending on Twitter, Wilde, who became a household name during the 80’s thanks to her global hit single ‘Kids In America’, wrote: “Trending? You’ll all think I’ve pegged it.”
