Ex-Wu Lyf frontman Ellery Roberts returns as LUH – hear new song now

'Unites' is first material to be heard from new project with Ebony Hoorn

Ellery Roberts, former frontman of Manchester band Wu Lyf, has revealed new project LUH and first song ‘Unites.’

The track, which can be heard above, sees Roberts work with Ebony Hoorn under the name LUH. A video accompanying the track can also be seen at the bottom of this page.

Produced & Performed by Ellery James Roberts & Ebony Hoorn, ‘Unite’ includes additional beat sequencing and arrangement by Yousif Al-Karaghouli. The track was mixed by Paul Savage.

A description of ‘Unite’ underneath the video describes it as, “A song of longing for balance in a world where we slump & grind to a senseless algoriddim of fractious complexity. A song for lovers, numbered by the placid plateau of conform-core modernity. The personal is political as never before, and all those that make the choice to step away sing Luvah’s Song. I wrote this for you, for her, for every longing breath lost under heaven’s refracted light.”

Wu Lyf split after Roberts announced his departure from the group in the form of a letter to his bandmates under the statement “WU LYF is dead to me” accompanied by a YouTube clip. The band released their debut LP ‘Go Tell Fire To The Mountain’ in June 2011 and had reportedly been working on new material.
