A further 35 acts, including the remaining headliners, will be unveiled this evening (March 10)

Reading and Leeds Festivals organisers have revealed the first names for the BBC 1Xtra stage and Dance Stage.

In a series of tweets, it was revealed that Danny Brown, Joey Bada$$, Lizzo, Giggs and Vic Mensa are playing the 1Xtra Stage at this year’s event.

Bondax, Flume, Ben Pearce, Andy C and Boys Noize were announced for the Dance Stage.

Tonight (March 10), the final headliners and 35 other acts will be revealed. A teaser Tweet picturing four playing cards (shown above) – two with previously announced headliners Blink-182 and Arctic Monkeys on, and the other two with question marks on, suggests there will be four headliners for this years’ event.

Last week, the festival’s organiser Melvin Benn has told NME that this year’s line-up is “unlike anything we’ve done before”.

“I think it will surprise a lot of people,” he said. “As ever for us, the line-up’s a mix of where popular and alternative music has been, where it is now and where it’s going next, across a real spread of genres. There’s unquestionably a rock tradition at Reading and Leeds but equally so there’s unquestionably a dance tradition at the festival and plenty of other sorts of sounds and audiences. So we try to reflect that. It’s a really strong line-up this year. We’re absolutely delighted with it.”

Among the acts already confirmed for the August bank holiday weekender are The 1975, Jake Bugg, Metronomy, Disclosure and Of Mice and Men.
