Chris Moyles’ Radio X show has lost 43% of its London listeners

100,000 listeners have tuned out of his morning show

The London listeners of Chris Moyles’ Radio X breakfast show have plummeted to 170,000 figures – a 43% drop from his initial 300,000 listeners.

The former ‘saviour of Radio 1’ rebooted his radio career with Radio X back in September 2015. The radio station was formerly known as XFM.

Speaking to The Sun at the time, he said: “I was very clear it had to be with my team and me doing what I want to do, carte blanche. The fact I can do whatever I want is a huge thing for me.

“Radio’s very safe in this country. You don’t have to do a lot to shock people. They know what they’re hiring. I’ve said I’ll get figures up and make them money if they let us get on with it.”

According to Digital Spy and the latest RAJAR stats, it seems Chris Moyles listeners are plummeting but the presenter is seeing the funny side, taking to Twitter to ask his listeners to come back.

“On air at 06:30,” he wrote before the show. “Tune in .. Please”. He added after he went off air: “Chris Moyles recently lost 130,000 listeners in London. If you find one, please send them back. Thank you.”
