Wayne Rooney has shared his World Cup playlist, selecting songs by Jake Bugg, Beyonce and Mumford & Sons among others.
The Manchester United player will head to Brazil alongside the rest of the England squad next month ahead of their first game in the tournament on June 14.
In preparation for the tournament Rooney has compiled a playlist of songs he will be listening to, selecting tracks by artists such as Bill Withers, Passenger, Ed Sheeran and The Lumineers on the laid-back mix. Five Jake Bugg songs make the cut with ‘Lightning Bolt’ and ‘Two Fingers’ among them.
Tweeting about his playlist, Rooney wrote: “This is my world cup album 2014 hope everyone enjoys it. Bit of a mixed bag.”
The playlist also features a number of songs by Welsh band The Stereophonics. Rooney is a big fan of the band and has the name of their 2001 album ‘Just Enough Education To Perform’ tattooed on his arm. The band also performed at his wedding in 2008.
