Enter Guardian Student Media Awards to win a week’s work experience at NME

Budding journalists have until July 28 to submit work

This year’s Guardian Student Media Awards are open for entries, with a week’s work experience at NME among the prizes on offer.

The focus of the awards is to discover and promote talented individuals, and to reward and celebrate their work. The winner of Student Critic Of The Year will be earn one week’s work experience at NME plus a pair of tickets to attend the NME Awards next year.

Student journalists wishing to enter should submit three examples of their work by Monday July 28 (or June 23 for those entering the Student Website Of The Year category). The five best entries in each category will be shortlisted and invited to attend the awards ceremony in November.

Winners will receive a money-can’t-buy prize of two weeks of work experience at The Guardian, while runners up will receive one week. This year, additional prizes of an iPad Air and tickets to a Guardian Masterclass on journalism are also up for grabs.

The dates to remember are as follows:

Monday June 23 – Closing date for Student Website Of The Year
Monday July 28 – Closing date for all entries
August – September 2014 – Judging process
October 2014 – Shortlist announced
November 2014 – Awards ceremony
