The 2016 Billboard Music Awards took place last night (May 22) in the US, with Rihanna, Madonna, Kesha and Britney Spears among the live performers.
The event took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During Madonna’s performance, she paid tribute to the late Prince, covering ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ before being joined by Stevie Wonder for a rendition of ‘Purple Rain’.
The Roots’ Questlove introduced the performance by calling Prince’s death “an earthquake” in the music world.
Meanwhile, Rihanna performed her ‘Anti’ album track ‘Love on the Brain’ and Kesha covered Bob Dylan‘s ‘It Ain’t Me Babe’ with the help from Ben Folds.
Britney Spears ran through a career medley that included ‘Work Bitch,’ ‘Womanizer,’ ‘I Love Rock n’ Roll,’ ‘Breathe On Me,’ ‘I’m a Slave 4 U,’ ‘Touch of My Hand,’ and ‘Toxic’.
