Meanwhile, Paramore are outselling Justin Timberlake in the Album Chart
Judy Garland’s ‘Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead’ is heading for a top 10 entry in this week’s Official Singles Chart following a Facebook campaign to get the song to Number One on the same week Margaret Thatcher died.
Reports from the Official Chart Company indicate that the track is at number 10 in the midweek update and that as of midnight last night (Tuesday, April 9) had sold over 10,600 copies, around 5,000 copies away from a top three position on Sunday (April 14).
The UK’s current Number One, ‘100%’ by Duke Dumont and A*M*E, is set to stay the same with Nina Nesbitt being the only new entry in the top 20 with her single ‘Stay Out’, which is currently at 13.
Elsewhere, Justin Timberlake’s three-week reign at the top of the Official Album Chart also looks set to end with Paramore’s ‘Paramore’ outselling ‘The 20/20 Experience’ by three copies to one. Should the album hold on to the top spot it will be the US band’s second Number One album following 2009’s ‘Brand New Eyes’.
Meanwhile, other Top 10 entries are due from Stone Sour, OMD and James Blake, whose second album ‘Overgrown’ is at number six. The Knife’s new album ‘Shaking The Habitual’ is currently placed at number 19.
