The late fashion designer was honoured in New York yesterday by friends and family

Mick Jagger sang Bob Dylan‘s ‘Just Like a Woman’ at a New York memorial service for his late girlfriend L’Wren Scott yesterday evening (May 2).

The service took place at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Manhattan and also saw The Rolling Stones’ backing singer Lisa Fischer singing ‘Amazing Grace’, reports Rolling Stone. The friends and family event was attended by directors Martin Scorsese and Baz Luhrman, actors Julianne Moore and Meg Ryan and US Vogue editor Anna Wintour, with Scott’s brother, Randy Bambrough and her friends, the actors Ellen Barkin and Sarah Jessica Parker also paying tribute.

L’Wren Scott was found dead on March 17 in her apartment in New York, after committing suicide by hanging. Her funeral took place at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, where Mick Jagger spoke briefly, as did Scott’s brother, talent agent and Jagger’s children. Longtime Rolling Stones backing singer Bernard Fowler performed ‘Will The Circle Be Unbroken’, joined by Dave Stewart on guitar.

Jagger released a statement following the news and his Rolling Stones bandmates also showed their support for the frontman.
