Stars from world of music react to Barack Obama re-election

Stars such as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Diddy have congratulated Barack Obama on securing a second term as US President today (November 7).

As the President’s victory over Republican candidate Mitt Romney became clear overnight in America, musicians sent celebratory tweets, many of which have been compiled below. Scroll down the page to read through the best. Wayne Coyne, Ryan Adams, Dave Grohl, Gossip, Garbage and Kate Nash were amongst the first to react from the rock music community.

Sadly, it wasn’t 100% good news though as will.i.am has promised to record and release a victory single for Obama. Beyonce brought the smiles back to Democrats faces however, posting the phrase “Take that Mitches” on her official website.

Obama secured his second term in office by winning the vote in almost all of the key swing states. The Democrats are expected to hold Senate whilst the Republican party look set to take House.
