Vincent Moon's film 'From Ghosts' relives the first ATP festival in New York
A documentary about the first ever ATP New York festival, featuring My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai and Sufjan Stevens, has emerged online – watch it below.
The film, titled From Ghosts, is directed by Vincent Moon and relives the biggest moments from the first ATP New York in 2008.
It is one of six documentaries by Vincent Moon, shot over seven different ATP festivals. A statement on the ATP website about the project says the films “try to encapsulate the gonzo energy of the festival, mixing cult live shows with late night home parties, drunk dancing with hyperactive filming, following each time the voice of a narrator to whom it was asked – where is music coming from?”
The whole set of films, which were all funded by Kickstarter, were screened at ATP’s two final regular UK weekender events at the end of last year (2013).
At the beginning of this year, it was announced that Portishead and Interpol will headline ATP Iceland 2014. Now in its second year, the festival will take place between July 10 and 12 at the former NATO base in Keflavík, which is now called Ásbrú. Portishead will headline on July 11 and Interpol will lead the bill on July 12, alongside Icelandic acts Sóley, For a Minor Reflection, Samaris, Low Roar and Mammút.
