Mumford & Sons, Tame Impala, Last Shadow Puppets, Biffy Clyro to play Radio 1 Big Weekend 2016

Chvrches, The Weeknd, Stormzy, Iggy Azalea, Years and Years, Catfish and the Bottlemen and more also confirmed

The full line-up for this year’s BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend has been announced, with Mumford and Sons, Tame Impala, The Last Shadow Puppets and Biffy Clyro among those confirmed.

The two day event will take place between May 28-29 at Powderham Castle in Devon, with 25,000 free tickets for the weekend allocated to local fans.

Coldplay, Bring Me The Horizon, Ellie Goulding, The 1975, Chase and Status, Craig David and Jake Bugg had previously been confirmed, with new additions now including Chvrches, The Weeknd, Stormzy, Iggy Azalea, Years and Years, Catfish and the Bottlemen and more.

Speaking about his band’s headline booking, Marcus Mumford says: “I’ve never been to Radio 1’s Big Weekend so we’ve got a lot of catching up to do… I wanna make up for it with five years worth of riders. We’re really excited, thanks for inviting us, it’s going to be great.”

Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2015 saw Muse, Taylor Swift and Foo Fighters all perform live in Norwich. The annual festival has visited Derry, Glasgow, Bangor, Sunderland, Maidstone and Dundee since its inception in 2003.
