The 19th MTV Europe Music Awards are set to take place in Frankfurt, later this year.
This will be the second time that the German city has hosted the music channel’s European awards ceremony, after staging the event in 2001, reports Hollywood Reporter.
The event will take place on November 11 at the Festhalle, following 2011’s show in Belfast. Viacom International Media Networks president Bob Bakish has said that the awards ceremony will be “one of the biggest nights in music on the planet” and “showcase talent from the US to Europe to Asia to everywhere in between.”
Florence And The Machine will release an MTV Unplugged live album next month. The performance took place on December 16 in New York City and featured Florence Welch, three members of her band and a 10-piece gospel choir playing an 11-song set.
The set included two covers, first of Otis Redding‘s ‘Try A Little Tenderness’ and secondly of ‘Jackson’, the Jerry Leiber and Billy Edd Wheeler song made famous by Johnny Cash and June Carter. On this particular track, Welch was joined by Queens Of The Stone Age mainman Josh Homme for a duet. ‘MTV Unplugged’ will be released on CD and digital download on April 9.
