R&B singer was admitted to hospital on Monday (March 28)
Kehlani has reactivated her Instagram account and confirmed to fans that she is in the clear after a reported suicide attempt.
The R&B singer was hospitalised on Monday night and posted an image on Instagram of herself in a hospital bed with her right arm hooked up to a drip. The now deleted picture was accompanied with Kehlani writing: “I wanted to leave this earth. Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I’d get to such a low point.”
The 22-year-old had been the focus of online gossip after ex-boyfriend, and Drake affiliate, Partynextdoor posted an image online of the pair in bed together while it was thought Kehlani was still in a relationship with basketball player, Kyrie Irving.
Since then she has reactivated her Instagram account and shared a post where she said she’s “healthy, home, & with ppl who love me.”
The full post read “thank you for the love. everyone’s fighting things people know nothing about. healthy, home, & with ppl who love me. thank you 4 all support. all God. Will b taking a space,” and was subsequently deleted.
Meanwhile, TMZ report that Kehlani was put on psychiatric hold after officials deemed she was a danger to herself.
Some of the R&B singer’s famous friends posted messages of support for her throughout Tuesday with #StayStrongKehlani trending on Twitter. “man. just heard about kehlani. one of the nicest people ever. i wish good energy and strength for her life,” The Roots’ Questlove tweeted, while JoJo added: “I love you Kehlani. You’re beautiful. Worthy of love and light and happiness.”
Nick Cannon, meanwhile, visited her in hospital where he shared a picture of her with his Instagram followers. Kehlani first came into the public spotlight as a contestant on season 6 of America’s Got Talent, which was hosted by Cannon.
