Rapper charged over incidents in Chichester and Somerset
Aggro Santos has been charged with two counts of rape.
The rapper, who has achieved two Top 10 UK singles and came sixth in last year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been formally charged with sexual assault after allegedly raping a woman in Chichester on May 7 this year and in Somerset in 2010, reports Brighton newspaper The Argus.
Sussex Police have issued a statement about the charges, which reads as follows:
The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Sussex Police to charge a man in relation to two separate investigations of rape in Somerset and Sussex and a second man in relation to the offence in Sussex.
Yuri Santos, 22, of Bickersteth Road, London, has been charged with two offences of rape; one in Chichester on 7 May, 2011 and another in Yeovil between 25 and 26 September last year.
Tyrelle Ritchie, a friend of the rapper, has also been charged with rape over the incident in Chichester.
Santos has been under investigation over the incident since May, when police were contacted by two women who claimed they’d been sexually assaulted by the rapper and his friend in one of the hotel’s rooms.
Both men will appear in court on September 19.
