Police make arrest after gunshots fired at SXSW

No injuries reported following incident

Police in Austin, Texas have made an arrest after gunshots were fired into the air at South By Southwest Festival last night (March 19).

USA TodayUSA Today reports that officers recovered a gun and took one person into custody having arrived at the Old School Bar & Grill venue at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Trinity Street in downtown Austin. Local act Hour Band were performing at the time. No injuries were reported.

Onlookers reported that gunshots sent a swarm of people running from the venue and its surrounding area.

Meanwhile, earlier in the evening Drake performed a secret live show at the nearby Fader Fort. The rapper headlined a takeover of the venue by his OVO Sound label, with Partynextdoor, DVSN and Majid Jordan also playing live.

During his brief set, which saw him play tracks including ‘Energy’, ‘Summer Sixteen’ and ‘Jumpan’, Drake confirmed new album ‘Views From The 6’ is due imminently and that he will tour later this year.
