Wireless Festival fans turned away after falling victim to fake ticket scam

Promoter Live Nation slams unscrupulous touts

Hundreds of Wireless Festival fans were turned away at the weekend after falling victim to fake ticket outlets.

Promoter Live Nation said many of those who had purchased tickets for the Hyde Park event from third party websites such as Gumtree and eBay were refused entry after they were found to be counterfeit.

A spokesman told the Press Association:

This is outrageous and has to stop, we urge fans to only use the official ticket outlets at all times.

Those who bought fake tickets for the three-day bash are being advised to contact the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau through their official website nfib.police.uk.

Rihanna closed the event with a hit packed set last night (July 8). Calvin Harris also drew a huge crowd to his headline set in the Pepsi Max tent, which included ‘We Are Your Friends’, ‘Where’s Your Head At’, ‘You Got The Love’, ‘Block Rockin’ Beats’ and ‘We Found Love’.

Other acts who performed at the event over the weekend included Drake, Professor Green and Example.
