Dance bash is no more following last weekend's shutdown
Baselogic Productions, the organisers of London’s Bloc festival, have gone into administration.
The move comes after the bash, which was due to be headlined by Snoop Dogg, was shut down in the early hours of Saturday morning (July 7) by police after organisers declared that the festival’s site of London Pleasure Gardens had become unsafe for public use.
A statement on Bloc’s official website Blocweekend.com read: “It is with great sadness that we announce Baselogic Productions (who you all know as Bloc) has been placed into administration following the events of Friday evening.”
It continues: “The team are working hard with the administrators to investigate the issues that led to the closure of the event and people will be updated as and when we have new information. We ask that you allow the administrators time to conduct a thorough investigation so we can establish the facts.”
It continues further: “Once again we would like to apologise for all of the frustration and disappointment this situation has caused and thank everyone who has supported the team over the years, your continued support means so much to us.”
A full investigation of the events leading up to Bloc Weekend will now be conducted by the administrators Parker Andrews and a further statement will be issued in due course.
The Metropolitan Police had previously said that the bad weather on Friday evening had led to the site’s safety being compromised, despite reports from attendees that the event was over-capacity and poorly organised.
All ticket buyers should await further information about how the administrators will distribute ticket refunds.
