Venue and nightclub announced this morning (April 27) that it has closed down
Le Bateau, a venue in Liverpool, has closed down, it was revealed this morning (April 27).
The venue, which mostly hosted club nights and gigs by both unsigned and local bands, has now closed its doors, reports Sevenstreets.com.
Le Bateau, which played host to popular local club nights ‘Liquidation’ and ‘Indiecation’, was immortalized in a song by Liverpool club Hot Club De Paris titled ‘Shipwreck’, which was inspired by a night out in the venue.
News of the closure comes as NME prepares to enter the next phase of this year’s search for Britain’s Best Small Venue in association with JD Roots. As part of the campaign, The Cribs will play Wakefield’s Theatre Royal on May 16, with The Horrors returning to Southend Chinnerys on May 9 and Scottish rockers Twin Atlantic playing Glasgow’s King Tut’s on May 3.
