Clare Amory of experimental New York group Excepter dies

Amory succumbs to cancer aged 35

Clare Amory of the experimental noise band Excepter has died aged 35.

The band, who were notorious for their free form, improvised shows, formed in Brooklyn in 2002.

Amory’s bandmate Jon Nicholson paid tribute to her on his Secret Society Pyramid Snake blog.

“My beautiful friend, and band mate – Clare Amory has left our Planet Earth. Her soul has been set free to bless this mad universe that we all live in.”

Clare was 35. Any age is too young to be taken from us. It hurts so much.”

“Let’s hope that the future can one days give us some answers about this mysterious bitch called Cancer.”

Clare Amory died on February 24 2011.
