Channel 4 set for series of broadcasts

The Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday (February 23) – and will be shown on TV on Saturday (26).

It will be shown on Channel 4 on Saturday night at 11:20pm (GMT). Earlier in the day, at 11:25am on the channel, T4 will broadcast their coverage of the ceremony.

You will also be able to watch a preview of the awards tomorrow night (21) on the same channel, at 11.45pm. All the awards categories will be previewed on the show.

The ceremony, which will be hosted by Angelos Epithemiou, takes place at London‘s O2 Academy Brixton. Acts playing live there include PJ Harvey, who will be presented with the Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution To Music Award, My Chemical Romance and Foo Fighters.

Dave Grohl is set to pick up the Godlike Genius award at the event, while Kasabian, Foals, Arcade Fire and Arctic Monkeys are among the acts nominated for other honours.
