NME Awards home O2 Academy Brixton to open its doors to the public

Venue to stage backstage tours this weekend (Sept 19)

London venue the O2 Academy Brixton is to open its doors to the general public as part of the Open House London event.

The venue, which is home to the NME Awards ceremony in February, will be opened for people to look around on September 19 from 10am (BST) until 1pm. Although no music will be taking place during the day, guests can have a full tour around the venue including some backstage areas.

Built in 1929, the O2 Academy Brixton has seen performances over the years form acts including The Clash, Madonna and The Strokes.

Admission to the tour is free, although the last entry is at 12.30pm.
