Bands hit the red carpet for London ceremony
The artists walked the red carpet at London‘s O2 Academy Brixton, running the gamut of waiting photographers and journalists.
“We were playing with Kasabian in Australia recently at the Big Day Out [festival],” he said, “so we’re looking forward to seeing them tonight.”
Guitarist Jamie MacColl from Bombay Bicycle Club revealed that the awards marked his first ever proper red carpet appearance. “There’s a lot of flashing lights! Is it my first red carpet? I went to a Shrek premiere once…”
Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith also arrived early, and said this year’s ceremony was a special occasion for him.
“This is our hat-trick [attending three times],” he said. “Who do I expect to win? Lots of mediocre acts will win and we’ll be internally furious but we’ll be too busy drinking free booze to care.”
