James Buckley's show takes home the prize

The Inbetweeners has been voted Best TV Show at the Shockwaves NME Awards tonight (February 24).

The show, starring actor James Buckley, won the award ahead of nominated shows Skins, Peep Show, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and True Blood.

James Buckley, who plays Jay Cartwright in the hit comedy series, said as he accepted the award: “Cheers to whoever is in charge of giving us this award. But this isn’t about TV, this is about music. I’d like to thank Kasabian and The Maccabees for giving British music credibility.”

The prize was awarded at London‘s O2 Academy Brixton by guest presenters Keith Lemon (aka Leigh Francis) and Ke$ha.
