James Buckley: ”The Inbetweeners’ struck a chord with British youth’ – video

Actor speaks after Shockwaves NME Awards win

The InbetweenersJames Buckley admitted he was shocked to take away the Best TV Show trophy at the Shockwaves NME Awards last night (February 24).

Speaking to NME.COM in a video interview you can watch on the right, at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, the actor said he believed the show had connected with young males in the UK, which partly explained its success.

“I think we’ve struck a chord with the British youth, and also all those young men that are yet to grow up,” he said. “So I think that’s why we won this award.”

On picking up the award he said: “I was a bit surprised to be up for a nomination at a music awards evening, for sure. But we won, so I’m very pleased, very chuffed.”
