Jonathan Galkin says record label has 'moved on' since his disputed departure
DFA Records founder Tim Goldsworthy has reportedly left the label, according to label partner Jonathan Galkin.
According to Galkin, Goldsworthy quit New York for the UK recently, but did not inform anybody else at the label of his decision, reports Residentadvisor.net.
“Tim Goldsworthy moved away to somewhere in the United Kingdom, without informing anyone here at DFA,” said Galkin. “We have had no word from him since he left the United States. So we moved on with our lives and our business. Simple as that. He most definitely took a piece of us when he left, but we wish him the best with whatever he gets up to next.”
However responding to those claims, Goldsworthy has played down his sudden move and insisted: “I haven’t left.”
He said: “If that was the case then, well, Murphy‘s never there, cause he’s always touring or in the studio, so that would mean he left, I don’t know, nine years ago or something?”
Goldsworthy said he moved back to the UK to raise his family, before admitting that he would still work with DFA “if something good came along and I got offered it”.
