Sentencing comes days after good Samaritan role where rapper talked man out of suicide jump
TI has been sentenced to 11 months in prison for violating a probation order.
The rapper, who earlier this week helped talk an unnamed man down from jumping off the roof of a building in Atlanta, Georgia, was arrested after he was found with five ecstasy pills in his trouser pocket on September 1.
Addressing US District Judge Charles Pannell Jr before sentencing, he appeared to be apologetic for the arrest, which took place while he was still on probation for gun charges, reports Accessatlanta.com.
“I screwed up,” TI said. “I screwed up bigtime, and I’m sorry. I’m truly and sincerely sorry. I don’t want and I don’t need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life.”
TI is set to begin serving his sentence at a later date.
