Music festival for endangered wildlife to launch

Red List LIVE bash to take place in June

A new festival, Red List LIVE, is set to launch in June – with half of its profits to go towards helping to conserve endangered animals.

The bash will take place in Port Lympne Wild Animal Park on June 19-21, with half of profits raised set to go to The Aspinall Foundation, which aims to conserve endangered animals and return to protected areas in the wild following stints in captivity.

Among the animals who could benefit from the cash include western lowland gorillas, black rhinos, African elephants, Siberian and Indian tigers, red pandas and barbary lions.

Details of the line-up are yet to be announced. Along with musical acts, organisers said in a statement that visual artists, poets and performers would be appearing at the event.
