Lou Rhodes gives away song from third album

The Lamb singer also announces live dates

Lou Rhodes is set to release her third solo album, One Good Thing, on March 14.

The singer will be previewing material from the record on a UK tour, which starts on November 21 at the Arlington Arts Centre in Newbury.

One Good Thing was recorded in two weeks in live takes.

“Most of the music I’m inspired by was either recorded years ago or uses similar old-school analogue techniques,” explained Rhodes. “I guess if I had a reference point for the recording of this record it’d be stuff like Nick Drake‘s ‘Five Leaves Left’ or Nico‘s ‘Chelsea Girl’. Basically guitar and voice recorded together as it’s played with the sound of a room rather than a deadened vocal booth.”

‘There For The Taking’ is out now as a free download, which can be accessed via LouRhodes.com.

The single will be released with a B-side, ‘Falling Down’, on December 14.

Lou Rhodes plays:

Newbury Arlington Arts Centre (November 21)
Exeter Phoenix (22)
Birmingham Glee Club (24)
Brighton Komedia (Downstairs) (25)
Southampton Talking Heads (26)
Bristol Thekla (28)
Leeds Cockpit (29)
Manchester Band On The Wall (30)
London Bush Hall (December 1)
