Former Brian Jonestown Massacre member debuts solo material in LA

Miranda Lee Richards previews new album

Former Brian Jonestown Massacre member Miranda Lee Richards debuted new material from her forthcoming solo album in Los Angeles last night (November 19).

Richards, who learned to play the guitar from Metallica‘s Kirk Hammett, performed her wistful pop-rock tunes for a packed house at Tangier.

She played several tracks off of ‘Light Of X’, which is due out in the US on February 10 and features Mazzy Star‘s Keith Mitchell on drums and Josh Schwartz of Beachwood Sparks on guitar.

“The set went by too fast,” Richards said when introducing her penultimate track. “I hope one day to have so much material I can play for hours and hours.”

Richards played:

‘Lifeboat’

‘Savorin’ Your Smile’

‘Pictures Of You’

‘Olive Tree’

‘Early November’

‘Here By The Window’

‘Hideaway’

‘Mirror At The End’

‘Oddity’

Richards is gearing up for a month-long residency at Spaceland (home to Club NME Los Angeles) every Tuesday in February, as well as a show at the Hotel Café in Hollywood next month.

The tour dates are:

Los Angeles, CA Hotel Café (December 11)
