Fall Out Boy denies cease and desist against Neurosonic
Pete Wentz has denied reports that he sent a cease and desist notice to Canadian band Neurosonic.
The band, who played a show at New York’s Knitting Factory last week, wrote a song entitled ‘So Many People’ in response to Wentz‘ rumoured girlfriend Jessica Simpson’s notorious ‘Saturday Night Live’ performance when the wrong backing track was played and she was proven to be lip-synching. Simpson ran offstage on live television.
“Pete Wentz has a cease and desist out against us,” singer Jason Darr told the crowd in New York, prompting a gossip-piece in the New York Post’s Page Six column.
Wentz responded to the report on his blog where he says he has not even heard of the up-and-coming metallers.
“I have never heard of that band or ever sent a cease and desist in my life”, Wentz wrote. “Hope it works out for you.”
He went on to say: “I’m still not gonna have a fight in the press – its one thing I am really proud of myself for this year. If your songs are good then sleep easy and have fun playing them – just don’t attach me to them.”
