Are more large-scale events in the pipeline?...
CREAM are to end their club nights at NATION in LIVERPOOL while they assess the “shift in dance trends from nightclubs towards large-scale events and festivals”.
Cream has held a club event in Liverpool throughout its ten-year history, and the night at Nation is regarded by many as Cream’s spiritual home.
However, the Cream organisation have issued a statement revealing that it is to enter into a “30-day review period” to “assess the future of its nightclub operation” in the city.
Cream say they have “experienced first-hand a significant shift away from the weekly club nights towards highly successful large-scale events” such as their Creamfields festivals.
Nation will still host Cream’s tenth birthday party events on October 11 and 12, and Creamfields is unaffected.
James Barton, CEO of Cream, said in a statement: “Ten years on it is time to re-evaluate where we are as a company and assess where that fits into today’s market. It’s clear that young people want so much more from the Cream experience.”
Nation will continue to hold other club nights, despite the closure of Cream.
