The band are shot at as they leave a gig in Coventry...
UK skate-punks A came under attack from an irate stalker firing an air rifle as they left a performance at the weekend.
The five-piece were shot at as they left the Coventry Colosseum on Sunday night (May 26). The shooter was perched on the seventh floor of an adjacent tower block. The band escaped injury.
A spokesperson for A said the suspected rifleman had been hassling the band and their crew throughout the day.
Earlier, two local kids attempted break into the rockers’ bus, pulling a knife on the driver before running off. And A’s support-band The Beatsteaks also found themselves caught up in the Coventry mayhem. Their tourbus was pelted with stones and bricks as they pulled into the venue.
West Midlands Police, who were called to the scene of the alleged crime, said in a statement: “It was reported by staff from The Colosseum that items were being thrown at staff and band members as they were leaving. It was also reported that sounds like a pellet gun were heard. Police attended the scene and remained at The Colosseum as they prepared to leave.”
A, who charted at number 20 on Sunday with ‘Starbucks’, continue their UK tour in Cardiff tonight (May 28).
