John Carpenter to perform movie soundtracks live for first time ever

Carpenter due to headline the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in Iceland next year

John Carpenter will perform some of his iconic film scores live for the first time ever at the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in Iceland next year.

The festival takes place in Keflavík from July 1-3 and will feature Carpenter performing music from movies such as Halloween, Christine and They Live, as well as selections from this year’s ‘Lost Themes’ album, Pitchfork reports. Click below to watch a trailer announcing the appearance.

“We are incredibly honoured to present the first ever show by this legendary filmmaker and composer,” said ATP’s Barry Hogan. “Having had the opportunity to present the maestro Ennio Morricone twice in recent years, it has been a burning ambition of ours to also present John Carpenter, who is both a pioneer and a huge influence on us and so many great musicians and filmmakers that we work with. You’d be fucking crazy to miss this.”

Meanwhile, ‘Lost Themes Remixed’ is due out on October 16 and will feature input from Zola Jesus and Prurient, among others.
