UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said that he feels “quite chuffed” after being named Villain Of The Year at the NME Awards 2015 with Austin, Texas.

The controversial politician was awarded the prize at the ceremony at O2 Academy Brixton on Wednesday night (February 18).

The prize was not handed out in person during the ceremony but revealed afterwards. Previous winners of the title include Harry Styles and Kanye West.

Writing in the Independent, Farage addressed the dubious honour and said: “I’m quite chuffed to follow the likes of Harry Styles and Kanye West as NME’s villain of the year. Maybe I’ve truly made it now! Although I have a feeling that my daughters may not agree.”
