Today’s new album releases: AC/DC, Wu-Tang Clan and more

Plus new releases from Take That, Robbie Williams, Kiesza, McBusted and She & Him

AC/DC and Wu Tang Clan lead this week’s new releases with their first albums in 6 and 7 years respectively.

‘Rock Or Bust’ is AC/DC’s first album since 2008’s ‘Black Ice’. It was recorded in spring 2014 at Warehouse Studio in Vancouver with producer Brendan O’Brien and mixed by Mike Fraser.

Earlier this year it was confirmed that guitarist Malcolm Young is suffering from dementia and does not appear on the new album. ‘Rock Or Bust’ will be the first in the group’s 41-year history not to feature the founding member. Meanwhile, drummer Phil Rudd was recently arrested on charges of drug possession and threats to kill.

Wu-Tang Clan, meanwhile, release ‘A Better Tomorrow’. As previously reported, Raekwon and RZA of the group had a very public fall-out over the future of the group and the album. However, it was reported in May that the pair had patched up their differences. The album includes the song ‘Ruckus In B Minor’.

Speaking to NME in July, Raekwon stated that, although he was back on board with making ‘A Better Tomorrow’, he had reservations about making a Wu-Tang Clan album without Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who died in 2004. He also said that he would have preferred to call the album ‘Wu World Order’.

Elsewhere, Robbie Williams releases a new album, ‘Under The Radar: Volume 1’, on the same day his former bandmates Take That put out their latest record, ‘III’.

Take That’s new album was recorded with producers including Greg Kurstin (Lana Del Rey, Lykke Li, Katy Perry), John Shanks (Take That), Stuart Price (Madonna, The Killers) plus Jeff Lynne of ELO, and is their first album as a trio following the departure of Jason Orange earlier this year.

There are also new records from Mogwai, Kiesza, McBusted and She & Him while Björk, Guns N’ Roses, Leonard Cohen and John Grant all release live DVDs and albums.
