The Jesus And Mary Chain lead latest additions to NOS Alive 2015 festival

Jessie Ware and Young Fathers join headliners Muse at Portugese festival

The Jesus And Mary Chain are among the latest additions to this year’s NOS Alive festival in Portugal.

The festival, which confirmed Muse as its first headline act last year, has announced a number of new artists today (January 19) including Jessie Ware and Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers. NOS Alive was formerly known as Optimus Alive and is held in the centre of Lisbon between July 9-11.

The Wombats join fellow new additions Jessie Ware and Young Fathers plus Alt-J and Muse at the opening night of the festival on July 9.

Other new additions to this year’s festival confirmed today include The Ting Tings (July 10) and Portuguese folk act Dead Combo, who play on July 11.

Previous artists to have played the festival include Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, Foals, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, The Cure, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Bob Dylan and Blondie alongside electronic acts and DJs such as The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Justice, Deadmau5 and Simian Mobile Disco.

Tickets for NOS Alive 2015 are onsale here now. A three-day pass plus camping costs £110 while single day passes can be bought for under £50.
