Verified Frank Ocean Facebook page sparks new music leak hoax

A mysterious post caused speculation among fans

A verified Frank Ocean Facebook page recently promised that leaked new music was “coming soon”, but the star’s camp has since spoken out to deny that the account in question is an official one.

The R&B singer is thought to be working on his follow-up to ‘Blonde’ and appeared to hint at new music earlier this year.

On Monday (March 19), the @FrankOceanPage account – which has been verified by Facebook – posted a message that linked to a leak site, along with the caption: “plenty of new frank ocean leaks coming soon.” See that post here and below.

The message sparked speculation among Ocean’s fans that new music could soon be leaked online.

However, a representative for Ocean has since confirmed that the account is not his official Facebook page and that his official page, @FrankOcean, remains inactive. Ocean’s team is looking into how the unofficial account came to be verified.

Back in February, Ocean shared a cover of ‘Moon River’, originally performed in Breakfast At Tiffany’s by Audrey Hepburn.

Last November, Frank suggested he’d completed work on his upcoming fourth album in a Tumblr post that read: “‘Well, I made the album before 30. I just ain’t put that bitch out!’ – quotes from an interview I haven’t given haha”.
