Emily Kokal speaks to fans through Facebook message ahead of October UK tour
Warpaint have told fans that they are “very excited” to play new songs for them later this year.
The band, who will tour the UK in October, have been working on their second album after finishing touring their first, ‘The Fool’. Posting a message on Facebook lead singer Emily Kokal confirmed that the band will have new material to play in their live set and that they cannot wait to get out on the road.
“Wanted to say hello to you all as we get ready to get back on the road, and to hopefully end up somewhere near everyone’s hood in the soon future!” she wrote, adding: “We’re very excited to play you our new songs and share the experience of music together! thank you for all your love and kindness… we are truly grateful and honor you from the bottom of our hearts.”
The US band will make their live return for a run of four shows, performing in Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester and London between October 27-30. Starting in Leeds on October 27, the four-piece will then perform at Glasgow’s O2 ABC on October 28 and Manchester Academy the following day. The short jaunt will end on October 30 with a big show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
Warpaint previously confirmed that they are working on a follow- up to ‘The Fool’. In February, Kokal wrote on their Facebook page: “Helllllloooo out therrrrre… sending some good vibrations to you kiddos wherever you are in the world, doing your thang… we’re home making our album. Can’t wait to share it with you all when it’s ready! Thank you for all the sweetness and encouragement, it’s so nice to have… With love and peace to you, Emily.”
The band will also appear at this year’s End Of The Road festival on a bill that also includes Sigur Rós, Belle And Sebastian and David Byrne & St Vincent.
