"I'm happy to be here," the singer tells the crowd. "But a fucking bat! Jesus Christ."

Adele got a surprise when a bat gatecrashed her show in Mexico City last night (November 15).

Waving her arms in mock-hysteria, the singer shrieked at the crowd jokingly: “There’s a bat! It landed right by your head!”

“Oh, my God, it’s a fucking bat!” she continued playfully. “Welcome to Mexico. It’s true. I’m happy to be here, but a fucking bat! Jesus Christ.”

Adele has recently extended her tour to include her first ever concerts in Australia. The singer’s five just-announced Australian dates – in the cities of Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne – will also be her first ever stadium headline shows.

The Australian dates follow the singer’s recent comments about her future as a touring artist. “I’d still like to make records, but I’d be fine if I never heard [the applause] again,” she told Vanity Fair in an interview last month (October).

“I’m on tour simply to see everyone who’s been so supportive. I don’t care about money. I’m British, and we don’t have that… thing of having to earn more money all the time.”

During the interview, Adele also spoke candidly about her battle with postnatal depression after giving birth to son Angelo in 2012.
