Watch a fan join The Killers onstage in Swansea for a stunning performance of ‘A Dustland Fairytale’

The Las Vegas band headlined the city's Liberty Stadium last night

The Killers invited a fan to play with them onstage at their Swansea stadium show last night (June 23).

The Las Vegas band, who released their latest album ‘Wonderful Wonderful‘ last year, headlined the city’s Liberty Stadium as part of their current run of UK shows, which include a bill-topping appearance at Isle Of Wight tonight (June 24).

Towards the end of the main portion of The Killers’ set, the group invited a fan named Ellie onstage to perform ‘A Dustland Fairytale’ with them after seeing her holding up a sign in the crowd. “We’re all rooting for you,” frontman Brandon Flowers told her before they began the song. Meanwhile, speaking to NME for this week’s Big Read, Flowers said he doesn’t “see a reason” in making a new solo album now Mark Stoermer and Dave Keuning no longer tour with the band. “The reason why I made solo records was to give Mark and Dave a break,” he said. “I’m really proud of those two records, but if we can get back at it then there’s no point in making another one.”

He added: “I’m not saying the solo stuff is over. I only got to tour with that for two months and I was having fun, so I’ll take it as it comes.” Flowers has released two solo albums – 2010’s ‘Flamingo‘ and 2015’s ‘The Desired Effect‘.

Elsewhere, drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. said he was “constantly messing around with things” and would like to “tap into” the “experimental sounds” he sees people online playing with. “I don’t want to totally lose anybody, but there’s still a lot to be discovered and I think keeping with the tradition of always trying something new with a record might be something for us to look into.”
