Cudi has previously accused West of not writing his own music
Kanye West performed in Sacaramento last night; a show he cut short after addressing Jay Z and Beyoncé in an impassioned on-stage monologue.
However, before he ended the show, the rapper performed ‘Waves’ with Kid Cudi. Earlier this year, Kid Cudi launched a stinging attack on his “haters in the industry” in a series of tweets, which went on to reference West and Drake.
Last night (Nov 19), fan footage captured Kanye West and Kid Cudi embracing on the flying stage, before performing ‘Waves’. You can watch the footage below.
Kanye West finished the show after a lengthly speech in which he addressed Jay Z and Beyoncé. During his rant, the rapper appeared to suggest that Beyoncé had refused to perform at the MTV VMAs earlier this year unless she won the Video of the Year prize ahead of him and Drake.
Kanye told the crowd: “Beyoncé, I was hurt! ‘Cause I heard that you said you wouldn’t perform unless you won Video of the Year over me, and over ‘Hotline Bling.’”
“In my opinion — now, don’t go tryin’ to diss Beyoncé, she is great. Taylor Swift is great,” Kanye continued. “We are all great people, we are all equal. But sometimes, we be playing the politics too much and forgetting who we are — just to win. Fuck winning! Fuck looking cool! Fuck looking cool! Fuck being cool! Fuck all that!”
Earlier this month (Nov 6), Kid Cudi made his first public performance since entering rehab.
The rapper had been undergoing treatment for depression. In a Facebook post in October, he told fans: “I am not at peace. I haven’t been since you’ve known me. If I didn’t come here, I would’ve done something to myself… I’m scared, I’m sad, I feel like I let a lot of people down and again, I’m sorry. It’s time I fix me. I’m nervous but I’ma get through this.”
Cudi did not address the comments Drake recently made about him new song ‘Two Birds, One Song’. Instead, he performed tracks like ‘Pursuit Of Happiness’, ‘The Frequency’, ‘Erase Me’, ‘Way Back’ and more with Pharrell Williams and Travis Scott.
He also took the time during the set to tell the ComplexCon festival crowd: “I love every single one of you! We can get through this shit! We can make it through! I am living proof!”
