Watch Noel Gallagher, Graham Coxon and Jehnny Beth join Gorillaz on stage in London

Vince Staples, Shaun Ryder and many more were also among the stars to appear at The O2

Noel Gallagher, Graham Coxon and Savages‘ Jehnny Beth all joined Gorillaz on stage for an all-star collaboration on ‘We Got The Power’ in London last night. Check out photos, footage and the setlist below.

On the road for their acclaimed 2017 album ‘Humanz‘ (one of NME’s Albums Of The Year), the headline set of Damon Albarn‘s animated band at The O2 saw a host of all-star collaborations. As well as the former Britpop rivals cementing the end of their feud by coming together for ‘We Got The Power’, Shaun Ryder and Roses Gabor also joined the band to perform huge ‘Demon Dayz’ single ‘DARE’ – while Vince Staples, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Pusha T, De La Soul, Mos Def, Bootie Brown, Peven Everett, Gruff Rhys, Pauline Black and D.R.A.M. also made special guest appearances.

Another highlight came when Little Simz appeared for her astounding vocal on recent surprise single ‘Garage Palace’.

Earlier this year, Albarn called his collaboration with Gallagher a ‘victory lap for Britpop‘.

“At one point, that track was Noel, me and [Blur‘s] Graham Coxon. It was the ultimate self-congratulatory Britpop moment. It was the victory lap, these geezers singing about all the power they had.”

“I went back and opted to doing it like you play something at the end of a film, as the credits roll,” he added. “Jehnny Beth was necessary. The testosterone levels were off the fucking scale.”

However, Noel’s brother Liam later poured scorn over the track – and declared ‘war‘ on Albarn once again.“Now that dick out of Blur and the creepy one out of Oasis need to hang their heads in shame as it’s no ‘Dancing In The Streets’ – as you were,” he Tweeted. “That gobshite out of Blur might have turned Noel Gallagher into a massive girl but believe you me, next time I see him there’s gonna be war.”

Meanwhile Albarn is already planning Gorillaz’ next record – and says it could well be a surprise release. In December 2010, Gorillaz fourth album ‘The Fall‘ was released with just five days notice as a free download. Now, it looks like they could catch their fans off guard once again.

“I really like the idea of making new music and playing it live almost simultaneously,” said Albarn. “It will be a more complete record than ‘The Fall’, but hopefully have that spontaneity.
