Stranger Things’ Dustin and his band have covered Foo Fighters, Paramore and Fall Out Boy during a recent performance at an iconic New Jersey music venue. Check out the clips below.
Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin in Stranger Things, is currently pursuing the rock ’n’ roll dream in the downtime from acting projects. Last month, he took to the stage with his band Work In Progress to cover the likes of Pearl Jam and Jimmy Eat World – with the star posting clips of the performances to Instagram.
Now, the 15-year-old actor and bandmates have performed at The Stone Pony in New Jersey. The venue has previously seen performances from Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.
Matarazzo and co appear to be performing in front of an impressive crowd, who scream as they launch into a rendition of Fall Out Boy’s 2005 hit ‘Sugar, We’re Goin Down’. Another clip sees Work In Progress take on Paramore’s ‘Misery Business’, before they slow things down with Foo Fighters’ ‘Everlong’.
Matarazzo isn’t the first Stranger Things kid to try their luck in the music biz. Finn Wolfhard’s band Calpurnia recently signed to Canada’s Royal Mountain Records, and began work on their debut EP.
Meanwhile, the Screen Actors Guild awards nominations were dominated by Stranger Things earlier this month.
