Swift co-wrote the dance banger with then-boyfriend Calvin Harris
Taylor Swift has given her first ever live performance of ‘This Is What You Came For’.
The singer performed a stripped back piano version of the Calvin Harris and Rihanna hit, which she co-wrote, at her only live show of 2016 last night (October 22).
Swift played yesterday at the Formula One grand prix in Austin, Texas. Her 15-song set also included the hits ‘Shake It Off’, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’, ’22’ and a medley of ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ and ‘Bad Blood’.
She co-wrote ‘This Is What You Came For’ with her then-boyfriend Calvin Harris earlier this year using the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg. It was revealed that she was the song’s co-writer in July.
Meanwhile, Swift fans are speculating that the singer could be set to release a new album after she signed a deal with telecom company AT&T.
The phone providers announced earlier this month (October) that they have teamed up with Swift for “a major, exclusive multi-year, multi-faceted deal featuring performances and content”. The deal has been confirmed to include a AT&T-sponsored pre-Super Bowl gig in Houston, Texas next February.
Reacting to the news on Twitter, Swift said, “This is gonna be fun.”
Swift recently extended her publishing deal with Sony/ATV, while it has also been reported that she is back in the studio. The news of the AT&T deal has led fans to speculate that her next album could be some kind of commercial tie-in with the telecom company.
