Plus band have cancelled their UK tour
The band have cancelled their previously-scheduled tour of the UK, which had been set to start in Oxford on June 21.
The Primavera gig saw the hotly-tipped San Diego duo bottled by fans after an inebriated Williams spent the duration of it listlessly strumming his guitar and complaining about the sound.
He mocked the crowd during the set, and – just as the band’s power was cut – had a cup of beer poured over his head by drummer Ryan Ulsh, reports Idolator.com.
Footage of the performance can be seen by clicking below.
Writing on the band’s blog at Ghostramp.blogspot.com, Williams admitted that he’d taken a cocktail of drugs before the gig and apologised to fans.
“I’m sorry to everyone who has put effort into this and to everyone who supported me. Mixing ecstasy, valium and xanax before having to play in front of thousands of people was one of the more poor decisions I’ve made (duh) and I realize my drinking has been a problem now for a good period of time.”
The blog post has since been removed.
The UK tour will be rescheduled for later this year.
Wavves‘ cancelled dates are:
Oxford Jericho Tavern (June 21)
London Luminere (22)
Bristol Cooler (23)
Manchester Deaf Institute (24)
Glasgow Captains (25)
Leeds Cockpit (26)
Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach (27)
Nottingham The Social (28)
