WEEZER BRACE THEMSELVES!

Just after new LP 'The Green Album' is released, fresh tunes are "flowing pretty good"...

WEEZER have started work on a new album, even though their last record, ‘THE GREEN ALBUM’, was only released earlier this month.

‘The Green Album’ was released in the UK on May 21, but in a break from promotion in the US, the band visited a studio in Washington DC to work on the new material.

In a statement posted on the official Weezer website, www.weezer.com, it is revealed that 12 songs were completed, with 10 sounding “really good”.

Working titles for the songs include: ‘Burnt Jamb’

‘Listen Up ‘

‘American Gigolo’

‘High Up Above’

‘Keep Fishin”

‘Not In Love’

‘December’

‘I Can’t Tell You’

‘Happy Grunge’

‘Take Control’

‘Saturday Night’

‘Puerto Vallerta’

Of the new material, the band weren’t happy with ‘I Can’t Tell You’ and ‘Happy Grunge’.

Speaking about the reasons the band have already started work on new material, they explained: “The new songs have been flowing pretty good since ‘The Green Album’ was put to bed, and everyone is already excited about doing the next album.

“Rather than ignore the new stuff while touring for the ‘Green Album’, the guys have opted to prepare in advance, so that whenever they finally have the opportunity to make the next album, they will be fully ready to go, without having to go through another painful selection and demo process like last time. They want to rock and they want to rock now!”

The band play T In The Park in July, Reading and Leeds Carling Weekend Festivals on August bank holiday weeend.
