WHEATUS are heading for the Number One spot this coming Sunday (February 11), as they are currently just outselling this week’s chart toppers ATOMIC KITTEN.

Wheatus’ new single ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ is currently the best selling single in the country, having sold 17,137 copies up to the end of sales yesterday (February 5). This week’s Number One, ‘Whole Again’ by Atomic Kitten, is currently at Number Two, having sold 14,231, while ‘Last Resort’ by Papa Roach is at Number Three, having sold 9,302.

Of the other new releases, ‘Loco’ by the Fun Lovin’ Criminals is currently at Number Five, and Starsailor, tipped for great things by NME last year, are set to have a Top Ten hit with ‘Fever’, their first ever single.

A chart expert at HMV in London commented: “Starsailor have got real momentum behind them right now, so that should continue to sell well. There aren’t a huge amount of new releases this week, but those which have come out are making a good impression on the charts.”
