White Lies relishing link-up with The Cure and Franz Ferdinand

Chart-topping band look ahead to Shockwaves NME Awards Big Gig

White Lies say they cannot wait for the Shockwaves NME Awards Big – and the chance to share the stage with several of their heroes.

The band, who who recently topped the UK charts with debut album ‘To Lose My Life…’ are playing the gig at the O2 Arena in London on February 26 with Franz Ferdinand, Crystal Castles and headliners, and this year’s Godlike Geniuses, The Cure – who will play a full 90-minute set.

Speaking about the gig, White Lies frontman Harry McVeigh said the show will be a very significant moment for the London trio.

“We’re over the moon to be playing with The Cure, the first truly big band White Lies have played with,” he told NME.COM. “And I grew up listening to Franz Ferdinand and haven’t seen any of their new material live, so I’m excited about that.”

McVeigh added he was also keen renew White Lies‘ acquaintance with the evening’s opening act.

Crystal Castles are legends!” he declared. “We look forward to playing again with them after touring together last year. All in all, should be a brilliant night!”
