Janet Weiss has suggested that the band are finished after releasing just one album
Wild Flag‘s drummer Janet Weiss has said in a new interview that the band, who released one album – 2011’s self-titled debut – “ran its course”.
The band, made up of Carrie Brownstein, Mary Timony, Rebecca Cole and Weiss, never officially announced a split, but Weiss’s comments to The Skinny suggest that the group is now finished. She said: “It was great but I think it just kinda ran its course. It’s hard to have a band when you live five hours apart by plane.”
The band featured ex-members of Sleater-Kinney, Helium and The Minders in their line-up. Meanwhile, Sleater-Kinney reunited on stage together for the first time in seven years at the end of last month. Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss were joined by Corin Tucker (along with REM’s Peter Buck) and played with Pearl Jam onstage at their Moda Center concert in Portland, where they covered Neil Young’s ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’.
